CSPI's comments to USDA Acting Deputy Under Secretary for Food Safety Carmen Rottenberg urge the department to deny a National Chicken Council petition to implement a "waiver system" for young chicken slaughter establishments participating in the New Poultry Inspection System and Salmonella Initiative Program to operate at unlimited line speeds.
