This Balsamic Glazed Salmon is simple and fast. (The beauty of broiling!) Choose an easy side like the green beans (see photo), and dinner is on the table in under 20 minutes. Can’t get enough of the glaze? It’s also great on tofu or chicken.

Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 1 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 Tbs. tomato paste
- 1 sprig fresh thyme or a pinch of dried thyme
- 1 clove garlic, smashed
- 2 Tbs. balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tbs. reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp. molasses
- ½ tsp. freshly cracked black pepper
- 4 6 oz. skinless salmon fillets
Instructions
- Adjust an oven rack to about 6 inches from the heat source. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Make the glaze: In a small pan over medium heat, heat the oil, tomato paste, thyme, and garlic. Cook, stirring often, until the paste starts to darken, 1–2 minutes.
- Add the vinegar, soy sauce, molasses, and black pepper with 2 Tbs. water to the pan. Whisk until smooth and simmer until thickened, 1–2 minutes. Remove and discard the garlic and thyme sprig.
- Blot the fish dry with a paper towel. Place the fish on a lined baking pan and spoon the glaze over it. Broil on high until the glaze is bubbly, 5–8 minutes. Remove from the oven and let rest for 2–3 minutes.
