CSPI is working to combat misinformation, win protections for food chain workers, protect SNAP and other government programs, and investigate unscrupulous Covid profiteers.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest is responding to the Covid-19 pandemic by bringing its expertise and resources to bear where we can have the biggest impact. CSPI’s Covid-19 Evidence Hub is a clearinghouse of research hubs identifying work on treatments, vaccines, diagnostic tests, and effective public health measures. A simple, up-to-date vaccine table provides the characteristics of all the major vaccines, including their overall effectiveness, their activity against the major variants, and information on their safety profiles.
Dr. Peter G. Lurie’s Beyond the Curve Blog seeks to address the scientific, political, and human dimensions of the pandemic. And as America’s food and health watchdog, CSPI is working to stop the spread of disease, support vulnerable food chain workers, alleviate hunger by championing SNAP and other government programs, and hold accountable those who would exploit the crisis.
CSPI's table compares the major vaccines, including Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Gamaleya (Sputnik V), Sinopharm, and Novavax on safety, effectiveness vs. variants, booster shots, and more.
A table of drugs for Covid-19 that have been authorized, or may soon be authorized, by the FDA, including Paxlovid, remdesivir, and REGEN-COV. Our experts assess the evidence for their effectiveness in treating and/or preventing Covid-19.
CSPI's Covid-19 Evidence Hub seeks to aggregate all international databases related to evidence on Covid-19 in one place, to make it easier for researchers and interested laypeople to access lab and clinical data on Covid.
A blog exploring the scientific and human dimensions of the Covid-19 pandemic from an activist perspective. Authored by CSPI's president, Dr. Peter Lurie—an infectious disease physician and public health professional—along with guest posts from other members of the CSPI staff.
