Scientists had 38 women sleep for (a) their usual 7 to 9 hours a night or (b) 1½ hours less (about 6 hours) for 6 weeks each. (The women had excess weight or a family history of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high LDL cholesterol, or high triglycerides.)
For the vegetables in this Cottage Cheese Snack Bowl, use whatever you like and have on hand. Some ideas: diced roasted bell peppers, halved cherry or grape tomatoes, and/or sliced cucumbers.
In step 3, the layers of the fish slip apart once they’re done because the gelatin between each layer melts at just the right temperature: when fish is cooked…but not overcooked. To make it a meal, pair this fish with Roasted Cauliflower with Green Olive Tapenade.
Chicken thighs are particularly forgiving part of the chicken—even when they’re skinless—because they’re much harder to overcook and dry out. If you prefer chicken breasts, pound them to an even thickness of about ½ inch, season, and then sauté in the olive oil. You can add this chicken to my Roasted Garlic Mushrooms—just nestle them near the middle of the pan.
