Food Industry’s Frequent Food Label Changes Over Time

FDA has set a compliance date of July 26, 2018, for the updated Nutrition Facts label for major companies. However, food industry trade groups have launched a fierce campaign to delay it until May 2021. According to the FDA, 95% of companies have until July 26, 2019, to begin using the updated Nutrition Facts label, and the Agency estimates $78 billion in consumer benefits over 20 years from the new label.
