    While there’s nothing wrong with cooking meat, poultry, or fish the same day you defrost it, you don’t have to. Beef and pork should be cooked within three to four days, poultry, ground meat, and ground poultry within one to two days, and fish within 24 to 36 hours. That doesn’t give dangerous (or spoilage) bugs time to multiply.   back
