Amy Nelms (she/her/hers) advocates for policies that promote nutritious food access through improvements and innovations to federal food assistance programs, such as SNAP. She is passionate about policy change that leads to a more equitable food system for all.

Prior experience

Prior to joining CSPI, Amy worked as the Double Up Food Bucks program manager for Nourish Colorado and engaged in grassroots policy work throughout Colorado. She brings years of experience working with farmers markets, retailers, and community members to co-build a more equitable food system.

Amy earned her MSW with dual concentrations in policy advocacy and community organizing from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and holds a B.A. from Graceland University.
