Keep our Food Safe!

Tainted tomatoes. Filthy beef. Cans of chili with beans ... and botulism. And now? Even peanut butter crackers and pistachios aren’t safe.

Recent outbreaks of foodborne illness have shocked Americans. Tragically, nine deaths and hundreds of illnesses were caused by contaminated peanut products produced by a corrupt and filthy Peanut Corporation of America plant.

We know our food safety system is broken. We must seize this historic opportunity to pass tough new reforms, ensuring better inspections and tougher penalties for those whose negligent behavior contaminates our food and sickens our loved ones.
