Alcohol-Free Sports TV. Click here to download the endorsement form
(PDF) --
simply fill it out and return it (via fax or U.S. mail) to CSPI. National,
state, and local groups of all kinds are encouraged to join our efforts. This doesn't have to be an issue you've tackled before to sign on. If your
organization cares broadly about alcohol issues, appropriate advertising,
education, public health, or young people, or you would simply like to get
beer ads off sports on television, we welcome your support.
2.
If you are an individual (or an non-endorsing coalition or organization) who
cares about this issue, please sign up as a supporter of the Campaign. We
will keep you informed about the Campaign's latest activities, send you
upcoming action alerts, and let you know what you can do to help.

3.
Spread the word to other organizations. Feel free to copy the endorsement
form and supporting documents to share with other like-minded, or even
unlikely, ally groups.

4.
Watch your local college team on TV. Watch for beer ads during the
televised coverage of college games. If you see beer ads, write to the
university's president about the damaging messages the alcohol industry
sends to largely underage college students and young viewers at home.
Tell the president that you think it is wrong for universities to officially
discourage underage and binge drinking among their students and then take
money from beer companies that promote student drinking. Urge the
president to end the tie between beer advertising and their college's games.
Get others to write also. Feel free to use talking points from
enclosed Campaign materials. Your letter may be the first of its kind
the president has ever received, so take the time to speak up! Click here for a sample letter to a college president.
5.
Release a press statement about the endorsement. If you have the capacity,
write a press release about your organization's endorsement of the Campaign. Explain why the issue is important to your mission, and that you plan on
raising the issue locally. Just making your local media aware of this
emerging issue is helpful, and may make it easier to get future op-eds or
letters to the editor placed, or to get press coverage at your events.
