Submit comments by Dec. 26 to the TTB

on allergen labeling in alcoholic beverages!

On Wednesday, July 26, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) announced in the Federal Register that it has adopted an interim rule establishing guidelines for the labeling of major food allergens in alcoholic beverages, effective immediately.

The interim rule permits voluntary labeling in a specified manner. The TTB concurrently published a notice of a proposed rule to make the allergen labeling mandatory. The TTB is soliciting public comments on this matter.

The Alcohol Policies Project encourages you to submit comments to the TTB in support of mandatory food allergen labeling on alcoholic beverages. Comments are due by Dec. 26. Instructions for submitting comments are in the Federal Register notice. APP has posted its comments online.
