 CSPI is seeking a Science Writer/Editor for its Nutrition Action Healthletter, the nation's largest-circulation nutrition newsletter. This is a full-time position reporting to the Editor-in-Chief. Editing and rewriting articles published in a nutrition newsletter in a way that makes the science accessible and entertaining is the main function of this position.
Candidates must have at least 3 years experience as an editor or writer at a newspaper or magazine. Four year degree required, preferably in science, but a demonstrated scientific expertise would also be considered. This position requires the ability to think critically and to understand the conclusions and limitations of scientific studies yet one must be able to re-write material produced by researchers to make the science come alive. Excellent attention to detail required, as are communication and computer skills.
