Nutritionist Consultant Position - Toronto (or GTA) – Full Time

The Centre for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), with offices in Ottawa and Washington, D.C., is a health advocacy organization focusing on nutrition policy and food safety. CSPI provides valuable, objective health information to the public; represents citizens’ interests before legislative and regulatory bodies; and encourages advances in science to be used for the public’s good. CSPI’s Ottawa advocacy is funded by more than 100,000 subscribers to the Canadian edition of Nutrition Action Healthletter (another 850,000 subscribers and foundation grants fund CSPI’s U.S. activities). CSPI does not accept funding from government or industry.

CSPI seeks a nutritionist to work on the Canadian health newsletter. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), home office-based consulting position in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area. Duties include gathering, compiling, proofreading, and fact-checking data on food products for articles; and researching and copy-editing. Please note this is not a writing consulting position. Four year nutrition degree, 1 - 3 years related experience, and strong communication and proofreading skills are required. Hourly pay rate is in the range of mid- to upper-$20s.
