
The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is a non-profit consumer organization conducting innovative programs in nutrition, alcohol policy, and food safety. CSPI publishes Nutrition Action Healthletter, the nation's largest-circulation health newsletter. CSPI strives to provide useful, impartial information to the public, represent citizens' interests before legislative, regulatory, and judicial bodies, and ensure that advances in science are used for the public's good. CSPI is supported by its 900,000 subscribers to Nutrition Action Healthletter and foundation grants.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is seeking a dynamic person to take responsibility for day-to-day management of community outreach, grassroots advocacy,
and field activities at CSPI. Currently, grassroots activities are focused primarily on addressing childhood obesity, improving school foods, and requiring calorie labeling at
chain restaurants. This manager will work with and provide technical assistance and strategic advice and support to state and community organizations, coalitions, concerned
citizens, and state and local policy makers on these issues. The manager will coordinate outreach to members, activists, community leaders, and health professionals, as well as organize
coalition activities, manage an online activist network, and work with local media. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director Nutrition Policy. Some travel is involved.
A four-year degree and 3-5 years of political or issue-oriented grassroots organizing experience is required. Additionally, one must have experience motivating and working with staff
